Seminar Non-canonical signaling rewiring in cancer cells

Cancer cells rewire intracellular signaling networks to enable survival, proliferation, and disease progression. This seminar will explore the molecular mechanisms underlying signaling plasticity in cancer, with a focus on how tyrosine kinases, frequently deregulated in cancer, profoundly reshape signaling pathways and may allow signaling proteins to acquire non-canonical functions that support tumor development.

Non-lethal roles of caspase-8 and the activation of NRF2 signaling will be discussed to illustrate how the deregulation of key signaling nodes contributes to malignant progression and therapy resistance.
